UK based Webcammers: take part in an interview

Unread post by BeyondtheGaze »

We hope you can help us! Beyond the Gaze is a research project looking at Internet based sex work in the UK run by Strathclyde and Leeds universities. At the moment we are looking for people based in the UK who work as webcammers to take part in a research interview.

If you would like to take part in the interview or get further information about what is involved please email one of our researchers – Rosie Campbell at r.campbell@leeds.ac.uk or Stewart Cunningham at stewart.cunningham@strath.ac.uk. We will arrange a time that suits you to be interviewed by one of the team.

What the interview involves: The interview will focus on the use of digital and web based technologies in your work, although it will touch on wider working practices & safety. We want to hear about the ups and downs of camming and what you think needs to change to improve things for cammers. Interviews can be over Skype, phone or face to face, whatever suits you! Interviews will take an hour and there is a £20 thank you Amazon voucher for your time.

Confidentiality: We know how important privacy and confidentiality is for people in the sex industry. Taking part in an interview will be confidential & anonymous, no personal details that could identify you will be recorded, no names, phone numbers, emails etc. We work to strict ethical guidelines and if we didn’t would get into trouble.

For more information about the project including the people in the research team please go to our website: http://beyond-the-gaze.com/
